/About Alexander Martínez

I start with the problem, not the screen.

Senior Product Designer in Madrid with experience across B2B SaaS, government platforms and large-scale ecommerce.

BACKGROUND

I'm a Senior Product Designer with experience in B2B SaaS, government platforms and large-scale ecommerce. I've worked at Global Alumni (clients included MIT and Duke University), Empathy (client: Kroger) and TipS, and I'm at Leadtech now.

I've led projects from start to finish: subscription monetization, a cross-sell platform, checkout and fulfillment, and a proposal to make a design system readable by AI agents. I like working close to the data and the business results behind the interface.

APPROACH

I design from evidence, not intuition. Every project starts with the problem: what is actually causing drop-off or low adoption, what the data says, what users say. Then I test and iterate on what comes back.

The reasoning behind a decision matters to me as much as the decision. I do my best work when I own a problem from research to measurement, because that's how I find out whether it worked.

CURRENTLY

At Leadtech I'm focused on scaling the unified government-services platform and on cross-selling between services from each user's private area.

OUTSIDE WORK · ALMAR LABS

Almar Labs started as my initials, Alexander Martínez. Now it's my own space to experiment with design, product and technology. I use it to try AI on real workflows, build ideas from scratch and take them from concept to code.

What I mostly want to understand is how AI is changing the job of a product designer, from specifying screens to building systems that work.
